CADE Plumbing Sizes/options for alterations

Below is the plumbing sizes for CADE Reef and Peninsula Models.  While the Peninsula models will have different plumbing lengths than shown below, the diameter of the pipes themselves are the same.

As the CADE plumbing is in metric, we most often suggest the following unions for connecting to standard plumbing - https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/metric-to-standard-pvc-union-slip-x-slip-adaptive-reef.html?fbclid=IwAR0-EiNh1ETp2PGQDk493nlmg0b5b55I0f1n-axQr6v9fBbZYsw40HSI8F4

If you are wanting to make some significant alterations to your plumbing we suggest that you use https://www.coralvue.com/metric-fittings They have a variety of pieces, adapters and UPVC pipe that will work for altering the plumbing on the CADE. **Note any alterations to plumbing are not covered under the limited warranty.

Weirs & Intake:
During the initial filling of your tank, you may notice that you are not seeing water "fill" the intake chamber from the lower weir.  The reason for this is that there is a glass panel behind the lower weir so that water cannot flood straight into the chamber.  Water must first go up to the top and meet the top intake weir, near where the drain pipes are located.  The reason for this design, is that if water flooded straight into the lower weir it would leave debris on the bottom and cause blockage.  This glass panel design also adds the benefit that if the plumbing or seals ever needed changing for any reason the tank does not need to be drained in order to do so.
